The article Psychology and Emotional Effects of Digital Technology on Children in COVID-19 Pandemic states that during the pandemic of 2020 there has been an increased use in technology devices from children by at least 15% during that time and before the pandemic had started the comparison of usage was detected on how dramatically it had changed within that year and talks about the effects on young children. Not only did it have negative facts on the use of screen time, the article mentioned that there is also a positive side of the use of technology, such being creative, reduce in stress and anxiety, and the positive outcome of cognitive skills.
This article is reliable, due to the pros and cons of the usage of technology devices it
provides. The strengths the articles provide is percentages and graphs. Gives a breakdown on screen devices, such as smartphones, tablets, computers, gaming devices and television, and it also provides some positive feedback of why screen time may be good for your child. The weakness this article provides is about the COVID-19 pandemic, which had taken a huge toll around the world, especially the lockdown and keeping social distance, which led to more usage of technology device.
I plan to use this article because it has, again a positive outlook and negative effects towards children, that will help me with my inquiry question to start my argument research.
The comparison of this article is that they both state the negative impacts towards children and their development, but this article also provides good feedback about the positive side.
